School Transport Assistance Program for Students with Disability is provided to assist students' attendance at State school programs. Eligibility is assessed by Department of Education(DOE), and available travel options approved by DoE are arranged through the Department of Transport and Main Roads. Assistance may be delivered through payment of fares on regular buses or trains, the provision of taxis or specialised contracted minibuses, or an allowance for parents who drive their children to school. The benefit level is to a maximum of $400 per week, per student, however in exceptional circumstances higher amounts may be approved.
