Monday 23 September 2024 Oonchiumpa participated in the Yipirinya sunset holiday program and joined with their cooking class. We had 4 of our young people Latarna, Bonika, Tyereesa, and Hudson along with other young people of the community. There, they met Miss Dan, who shared stories about her hometown of China and culture, explaining its significance to her. Afterward, Miss Dan and the team took the kids to Ling's supermarket and Woolworths to pick up the ingredients for their dumplings. Once back at the school, the kids learned how to fold and prepare the dumplings. This was a great opportunity for young people to ask questions.
