Allison Aley is a passionate marine scientist and educator, dedicated to nurturing connections between young people and the natural world. Born and raised in Washington, D.C., she now calls Australia home and is a proud mother to Aboriginal children. As the coordinator of the AT-SIMS program at James Cook University, Allison collaborates with the Mumbra Elders Council and the Minga Minga Rangers, creating immersive educational experiences that honor Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander traditions. Her work on Palm Island and sites of cultural significance exemplifies her commitment to bridging traditional knowledge with scientific inquiry, enhancing cultural understanding and respect.
